ORBA OVERVIEW OF PROVINCIAL BUDGET 2013
The first budget for the Liberal Party under Premier Kathleen Wynne, A Fair and Prosperous Ontario, takes a new tone and focuses on infrastructure and jobs as its key centerpieces, rather than the health care and education focus of previous budgets helmed by former-Premier Dalton McGuinty. The Government is continuing with the overall plan to spend $35 billion over the next three years on infrastructure with an increase in this year’s spend of over $500 million ($13.1 Billion for 2013-14 as compared to $12.5 Billion for 2012-13).

2013 Speech from the Throne – Priorities of the New Liberal Government
On February 19, 2013, the Honourable David C. Onley, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, delivered the new government's Speech from the Throne in the Legislature. The speech included a significant focus on the need for improved transportation infrastructure, including calls for better roads, stronger bridges, repaired underpasses, and accelerated, integrated transit planning.
