ORBA extends our heartfelt thanks to Minister of Labour, David Piccini, for his leadership in championing crucial amendments to the Highway Traffic Act. These changes, which now require motorists to reduce their speed and move over when approaching road maintenance workers, represent a significant step forward in protecting those who work tirelessly to keep Ontario’s roadways safe and operational.

Road maintenance workers face dangerous conditions daily, and this legislation is a clear acknowledgment of the risks they endure. By slowing down and moving over, drivers are helping to save lives and ensure that every worker returns home safely to their families.
